How to rent a car?

Registration

If you are reading this, welcome to the MyCar platform!


The first thing you need to do is register your account.

Go to the registration page by clicking the Register button in the top menu.


You can do it in several ways:

- Via E-mail

- Using Facebook

- Using Google

Choose the method that suits you best and complete the registration process. 

As soon as you register, you become one more member of our big, friendly family!

Verification

To book a car, you must first complete Verification.

Why is this necessary?

We want to make sure that you are a real person and are really interested in renting a car. Verification allows us to make sure that you have a valid driver's licence, and helps to avoid misunderstandings and save time for both you and the car owners. It's fast, easy, and makes the rental process transparent and safe for everyone!

It's very easy to do! After registering, you will be automatically redirected to your profile page.

If you've already left this page, don't worry - it's easy to return. Access your profile from the top menu: hover over your avatar and select My Profile from the drop-down menu.

Find the Add Driving Licence option in your profile and click on it. After that, simply go through the verification process by following the instructions.

When you're done filling in all the required fields, click Submit for Verification at the bottom of the page. We will review your data and you will be able to use the rental services very soon!

Planning your trip

Have you already chosen your dates and know what kind of car you want? Or are you looking for a car on the spur of the moment?

In any case, our service allows you to quickly find a car for your needs.

Start searching from the Home page or from the top menu and start choosing the perfect car for your trip. All you need to do is specify the start and end dates and times of your trip, as well as the city where you want to rent a car.

This way, you will be able to view all available car options for the dates you need.

If you are interested in a specific model or other parameters, use the search filters. You can customise the car display according to your requirements.

You can also sort the results by price or rating to find the best option for you.

Booking

If you have already chosen a car and decided on your trip, click on the car you are interested in to view its details.

Booking dates and times

Click on the dates to make sure they are available for booking. This is the first step to ensure that the car will be available during the period you need.

Car pick-up and drop-off times

Each car owner has the ability to adjust these values. For example, the pick-up time can be no earlier than 10 am, and the return time can be no later than 10 pm. If this information is not available on the car's page, it means that the owner is ready to provide the car around the clock. Make sure that these time limits are suitable for your schedule.

Booking periods

Pay attention to the minimum and maximum car rental periods. In some cases, a car can be rented for a short period - from 1 hour, or for a long period - up to a year. It is important to take this into account to avoid misunderstandings.

Delivery

Some owners offer a car delivery service. If this option is available, don't forget to tick the box and indicate the address where you want the car to be delivered. Be careful not to accidentally enter a different city or address.

As soon as you are sure that all the details meet your requirements, feel free to click Book. After that, the owner will receive a notification about your desire to rent a car, and as soon as he confirms the booking, you can discuss all the details of the trip and agree on the place and time of the car transfer. Don't worry, you can always edit or cancel your trip if something changes.

Edit and Cancel

You have already sent a booking request or even have a car booked for certain dates and your plans have changed dramatically?

Here we will talk about Editing and Cancellation.

- You can cancel your booking BEFORE the car owner confirms it at any time.

To do this, simply go to your booking and click Cancel Booking.

- You can only edit your trip before the Owner confirms your booking.

To do this, simply go to your booking and click Edit Booking.

Please note that in this case, the car owner will have to CONFIRM your already updated reservation once again!

If your booking has been confirmed and your plans have changed drastically, you can cancel it:

- Cancel the booking within the safe period (more than 24 hours before the start of the trip).

   In this case, you can cancel your booking without any problems.

   It is a good idea to notify the car owner in advance about the change of your plans!

- Cancel your booking outside of the safe period (less than 24 hours before the start of the trip).

   In this case, you will automatically be awarded a 1-star rating and a review will be added to the car that you cancelled your booking outside the safe period.

Plan your trips in advance and you won't have to worry about your profile rating :)

Transfer Auto

After your booking has been confirmed by the owner, the moment you have been waiting for comes - the Car Handover

When you meet with the owner and see the car, inspect it carefully.

Check for damage, find out about any problems (in case there are any) and take a photo of the car's condition (for your own safety, of course).

Although the contract can be considered legitimate without signatures due to the acceptance of the platform's terms and conditions, we recommend signing it - electronically or in person. Check the correctness of the data, print out the contract or sign it via electronic signature services. This will give you peace of mind during a meeting with the police or in other situations - having a paper document is always more reliable.

It may be the platform's agreement, or the owner may have their own. In this case, read it carefully.

For the transfer to take place, the car owner clicks Transfer car on the platform and indicates the odometer reading. 

Click Start a trip and check the mileage sent by the car owner.

If everything matches, confirm the mileage and go on an unforgettable trip!

End of the trip

Now the trip is over and you return the car to the pre-arranged location.

To end the event, click on the End Trip button on the My Trips page.

Then enter the odometer data.

This is necessary to record the kilometres you have driven.

As soon as the Owner confirms the mileage you have entered, you will have the opportunity to check whether you have exceeded the mileage limit, if any.

To do this, click the Check Mileage button on the My Trips page.

You will be shown a detailed description of your trip and the calculation of additional payment if you go over the limits.

Check the trip results and pay the Owner the additional cost of your trip (if any).

Communication

For efficient and secure communication between you and the car owner, we have created a special chat.

It will be available for use as soon as your booking is confirmed by the car owner.

We recommend that you use this chat to communicate with the car owner, as it will allow us to have access to the history of messages, which can be important in case of any violations or unexpected situations.

You can access the chat from the car booking page or through the My Trips section by clicking the Contact the Owner button

Feedback and Evaluation

After the trip is over, don't forget to leave a review and rating for both the owner and his car.

Your feedback will help us improve the service, contribute to the development of the platform and ensure a quality rental experience for future users!

Please note that reviews and ratings are available separately for the owner and for the car.

You can leave a review immediately after the car transfer or later through the My Trips section by clicking the Leave a Review button.

Lease agreement

Of course, you need a rental agreement to be able to drive around the country in a great rental car.

After confirming your booking, you and the owner will receive a copy of our standard contract. It contains all the important information: the car details, the duration of the trip and its cost. This is a recommended contract drawn up in accordance with all the rules and laws.

The car owner may have their own proven contract that has already been used for many trips.

Although the contract can be considered legitimate without signatures due to the acceptance of the platform's terms and conditions, we recommend signing it - electronically or in person. Check the correctness of the data, print out the contract or sign it via electronic signature services. This will give you peace of mind during a meeting with the police or in other situations - having a paper document is always more reliable.

So far, a signed paper contract is taken more seriously, but who knows, maybe soon all important papers will be available only on your smartphone.

In the event of an accident (We hope you do not need this)

If there is an accident, theft or other unpleasant incident with the car, immediately inform the Owner.

Within 24 hours of the incident, you will need to hand over documents from the relevant authorities:

- Certificate of an accident

- Police report of theft

- Documents about other incidents

Otherwise, you will have to be responsible for the damage yourself - and this is not the best option :)

Account management

You can manage your account in your profile.

You can add a large amount of information to your profile, such as a photo, your city of residence, languages spoken, and a few words about yourself.

To do this, find the top menu and go to your ProfileTo edit your profile, find the Edit Profile button and click it. After that, let your imagination fill it in for you :)

Please feel free to fill it out!

Then the Owner will understand that you are a really cool guy or girl and will trust you with the car 100%!
